2nd Annual Windows of Wells

The 2nd Annual Windows of Wells benefit silent auction will support the lighting of the Historic Wells Street Bridge. The collages, titled “Images of Our City” were framed by Northside High School students. This year, the St. Francis University Art Department, in conjunction with 12 local area high schools, presents “Images of Our City”.

Longing for a City: Why We Miss Old Fort Wayne, and What We Should Do About It

Jon Swerens, editor of the book, Allen County Photo Album 1955-59, will discuss the history of Fort Wayne and the opportunities for its future by exploring the city's historic photographs.

Downtown Design Awards

The Downtown Improvement District seeks nominations for the first of what we expect to be an annual recognition of superior design for downtown projects recently completed.

Projects will be considered in three categories:
» Architecture
» Landscape
» Signs / Graphics

DID is joining with the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects and ARCH (Architecture and Community Heritage, Inc.) to present design and preservation awards at a combined celebration and reception to take place on November 11.

Please submit your downtown entry with a photo (digital) and paragraph describing the design merits of the completed project, to justin@downtownfortwayne.com.

Call for entries in Arts United Community Mosaic

Arts United is seeking artwork from individuals, businesses, schools, social clubs and arts groups for the second "Community Mosaic" project. The pieces will be tiled together and put on public display in the Arts United Center at 303 E. Main St. in Fort Wayne from February through April 2010. The theme this year is "Arts Unite Us".
